Conner out 6-8 weeks; Penguins acquire forward from Rangers

The Penguins have claimed forward Taylor Pyatt off of waivers from the New York Rangers.

The addition comes as the Penguins have learned that winger Chris Conner has a hand injury that will require surgery. He is expected to miss six to eight weeks, according to coach Dan Bylsma.

Conner, who has also played in the American Hockey League this season, has a goal and four assists in 19 games with the Penguins.

Pyatt. 32, is 6 feet 4, 235 pounds. He had one assist in 22 games with the Rangers this season. 136 goals, 276 points in 825 games with four NHL teams.
