Penguins center Sidney Crosby was named the NHL's No. 2 star of the month for October.
Crosby had a league-leading 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) in 13 games.
He was the No. 2 star for one week in October and the No. 3 star for another week.
The top monthly honor went to St. Louis winger Alex Steen, who had a league-leading 11 goals. The No. 3 star went to San Jose goaltender Antti Niemi (9-1-2, 1.72 goals-against average, .924 save percentage and two shutouts).
