RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Penguins still don't have a prognosis for injured defenseman Rob Scuderi.
Coach Dan Bylsma said after the team's game-day skate at PNC Arena that Scuderi, who appeared to suffer an injury to some part of his left leg during a 4-1 loss in Toronto Saturday, returned to Pittsburgh today and will be checked by the club's doctors this afternoon.
"We’ll probably know more in the next 24 hours," he said.
Bylsma did not respond directly to a question about the time frame for Scuderi's absence, although his answer suggests the Penguins don't anticipate having him anytime soon.
"We have seven healthy defensemen, so we’re equipped to be without him," Bylsma said. "I don’t think the evaluation is going to change how long he’s going to be out too much."
