New York Rangers defenseman Michael Del Zotto will not receive supplemental discipline for the play Friday that left Penguins winger James Neal injured. The NHL department of player safety did not schedule a hearing with Del Zotto, whose Rangers play tonight at Carolina.

There has been no update on the status of Neal, who seemed dazed when he left Friday's game in the third period after being hit in the face by Del Zotto's elbow. Del Zotto, who was facing away from Neal at the time, said following the Penguins' 2-1 shootout win that he was bracing himself. There was no penalty on the play.

Today, Del Zotto told reporters, "Obviously, it wasn't intentional. Unfortunately, there was an injury. I know him. He's a friend of mine. So I feel terrible about it. It's a quick game and things happen fast out there, and it's just unfortunate that there was an injury."
