The Penguins have acquired forward Brenden Morrow from Dallas, but it has cost them defenseman Joe Morrow, one of their best young prospects.

The Penguins also get the Stars' third-round choice in the 2013 draft, while Dallas receives this year the Penguins' fifth-round selection.

Brenden Morrow waived a no-trade clause in his contract to make the deal possible, but only after considering the idea of approving a trade that would have sent him to Boston, instead.

The two Morrows are not believed to be related.

Brenden Morrow, 34 and the Stars' captain, has six goals and five assists in 29 games this season.
