The Penguins won their eighth game in a row and goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury set a franchise record with the 23rd shutout of his career in 3-0 a win over the New York Rangers this afternoon at Consol Energy Center.

Fleury made 23 saves.

It was also the Penguins' sixth home win in a row and seventh win in a row against the Rangers.

The Penguins took a 1-0 lead at 1:30 of the first period when rookie Beau Bennett sailed a slap shot from the right dot past Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist.

The second period was scoreless.

Tyler Kennedy gave Penguins a 2-0 edge with a power-play goal at 6:34 of the third period. The Penguins passed the puck around the perimeter for several seconds before Kennedy one-timed a dish from Kris Letang.

Just 43 seconds later, Pascal Dupuis, moving down the right edge of the slot, got a pass from Dustin Jeffrey and lifted a backhander over Lundqvist to make it 3-0.

The Penguins play host to Boston on Sunday afternoon.
