WINNIPEG, Manitoba -- Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury nearly set the Penguins' record for career shutouts tonight, but ended up having to settle for a victory.

He turned aside 25 shots, but gave up a goal with 1:35 left in regulation in what became a 3-1 victory over the Jets at the MTS Centre.

The victory was the Penguins' second in a row and raised their record to 10-5.

Winger Beau Bennett, the Penguins' first-round draft choice in 2010, made his NHL debut and played a solid two-way game.

Jets left winger Eric Tangradi, acquired from the Penguins Wednesday, had a strong first game with his new team and was a physical presence all over the ice.

Penguins right winger Craig Adams scored the only goal of the first period, as he punched in a shot from close range -- after several tries -- at 3:19.

The goal, Adams' first, was made possible by a rush by center Joe Vitale, who carried the puck down the left side and then got it to the net. Kris Letang got the other assist.

The Penguins have opened the scoring in each of their nine road games this season.

That was the only goal by either team until 15:11 of the third period, when James Neal scored from below the right dot during a five-on-three power play. Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin received assists.

Neal has at least one goal in five of the Penguins' past six games.

Andrew Ladd got the Jets to within a goal when he scored on a backhander at 18:25, but Adams scred into an empty net at 19:32 to seal the victory.

The Penguins are off until Sunday, when they will play in Buffalo at 12:38 p.m.
