Penguins defensemen Zbynek Michalek and Brooks Orpik will miss tonight's game against Toronto at Consol Energy Center, coach Dan Bylsma said today.

Orpik has a groin strain and is day-to-day, the coach said, but the status of Michalek's right shoulder is still being determined.

Michalek was injured during Monday's 3-1 win at New Jersey when he was checked into the end boards by the Devils' Rod Pelley and is being re-examined by medical staff today.

Michalek and Orpik have been pegged as the Penguins' shutdown defensive pair.
