TSN of Canada reported last night that defenseman Philippe Boucher, a member of the Penguins' Stanley Cup championship team last season, has announced his retirement after a 17-year National Hockey League career.

Boucher joined the Penguins at midseason in a trade from Dallas for defenseman Darryl Sydor.

He was a first-round pick of Buffalo in 1991 and finished his NHL career with 300 points (94 goals, 206 assists).
