The Penguins are recalling winger Janne Pesonen from their farm team in Wilkes-Barre.

Pesonen, a rookie from Finland, is scheduled to make his second NHL appearance when the Penguins visit Buffalo Friday at 7:38 p.m.

He was promoted because center Max Talbot, who took a shot off his left foot during the Penguins' 5-3 victory against the New York Islanders Wednesday night, is not expected to play against the Sabres.

Pesonen is the No. 3 scorer in Wilkes-Barre, with five goals and 16 assists in 19 games.

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
