STOCKHOLM, Sweden -- The Penguins today picked up an extra pick in next year's draft by sending the rights to defenseman Michal Sersen, an unsigned draft pick from 2004, to Tampa Bay.

The Penguins get the Lightning's fifth-round pick in the 2009 draft.

Sersen played in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he was a teammate of Penguins captain Sidney Crosby in Rimouski, and has spent the past two seasons playing professionally in his native Slovakia.
