Some of the comings and goings that marked a dramatic offseason for the Penguins:

April 20: Fired general manager Craig Patrick.

May 25: Named Ray Shero general manager and signed him to a five-year contract.

July 4: Named Andre Savard assistant coach.

July 15: Named Chuck Fletcher assistant general manager and Ed Johnston senior advisor of hockey operations.

July 26: Signed right winger Mark Recchi, who had been with the Carolina Hurricanes.

July 28: Named Gilles Meloche goaltending coach.

Aug. 4: Named Mike Lange radio play-by-play broadcaster for the 2006-07 season.

Aug. 6: Re-signed goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to a two-year contract.

Aug. 24: Named Jay Heinbuck director of amateur scouting, Patrik Allvin, Dan MacKinnon, Jim Madigan and Bill O'Flaherty scouts, Chris Stewart athletic trainer, Scott Adams assistant trainer, Dana Heinze equipment manager, Frank Buonomo director of team services and Travis Ramsay video coordinator.

Sept. 5: Signed center Evgeni Malkin, their first-round pick in 2004, to a multi-year contract.
