On May 18, the Post-Gazette and Forbes Trail Trout Unlimited will coach anglers with limited mobility at the Sleepy Hollow bridge on Loyalhanna Creek in Westmoreland County. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will block motor traffic on the low cement bridge connecting eastbound and westbound Route 30 west of Ligonier, one mile east of Route 217.
Bring your fishing license and gear. Or the Fish and Boat Commission will waive license requirements and provide rods, tackle and adaptive gear that accommodates fishing in mobility devices. Live bait provided. No leisurely watching of bobbers -- it's active fast-water fishing for recently stocked brown and rainbow trout. Size and creel limits apply; catch and release encouraged. Registration is free, space limited to the first 20 mobility-challenged anglers to register at 412-263-1991 or email@example.com.
