Nicholas Wetzel, 9, of Greensburg shot the coyote at a verified 260 yards about 15 minutes before firing on the buck at 100 yards. Both animals were taken with a .243 in Clarion County at about 8 a.m. on the opening day of the statewide firearm deer season. The four-point is legal under the state's Mentored Youth Hunting Program, designed to provide education and experience to kids 12 and under.
