The Score: Bonds vs. Yankees

Wednesday, June 05, 2002

By Rob Rossi, Post-Gazette Sports Writer

In our world, pitchers hit. And, speaking of hitters, it's a pleasure to welcome baseball's best, Barry Bonds, back to the page as the first two-time participant in our weekly battle of stiffs. Last time around, Bonds jobbed to Jerry Garcia in a Bay Area Bash. This time, in a preview of his first visit to baseball's holy ground (this weekend), Bonds takes on the New York Yankees. Bonds or the Bronx Bombers, talk about a fan's nightmare.

And there it is, by the score of 5-2, the Doodle Dandys trounced Homer. Bonds just can't seem to get the job done with the bling, bling on the table ... shocking, we know.
