Lake Erie tributaries (Erie County): Lots of chrome in Walnut Creek, but few caught in low clear conditions. Despite good flow and a slight stain last weekend, a few steelhead were caught near the mouth of Elk on paste bait fished on the bottom. A 10-pound hen was released Tuesday on Elk. On Sixteenmile fish were aggressive in small pockets but sluggish elsewhere. On Sunday, one angler had dozens of hook-ups on pink Crystal Meth patterns while nearby anglers were idol; on Monday, another reported five landed and 10 hookups. Light showers fell on the Erie area Thursday and Friday, and showers were predicted for Nov. 11.

Pymatuning Reservoir (Crawford County): Mark Vallozzi of Greensburg was given a state Fish and Boat Commission Angler Award for his 28-inch, 13-pound 4-ounce striped bass caught Oct. 19 using a live minnow on a Daiwa Algonquin fly rod and Okuma SLV 78 reel with 35-pound test line.

Raccoon Lake (Beaver County): Following a state stocking of rainbows in October, some nice trout were caught near the dam and beach. Paste baits and live minnows were hot.

Bradys Run Lake (Beaver County): A slow bite was reported.

Beaver River (Beaver County): Hybrid striped bass were caught near the Townsend Dam using large shiners, soft plastics or jerkbaits.

Parker Dam (Clearfield County): Several anglers reported good catches and having the lake to themselves following an October stocking of browns and brook trout.

Donegal Lake (Westmoreland County): The state stocked rainbows Oct. 24.

Loyalhanna Creek (Westmoreland County): Soft plastics were hot in the Delayed Harvest Artificial Lures section at Ligonier, which got a late-season stocking of rainbows in October. On Oct. 13 Doug Leichliter of Greensburg and Mark Begley of New Brighton caught 16 trout including 19- and 14-inch rainbows and a 14-inch tiger trout. Oct. 27 Leichliter was back and landed another dozen, and Oct. 30 he caught five more in less than two hours on the water.

Quemahoning Reservoir (Somerset County): Despite a draw-down, catches of trophy-size smallmouth bass were reported.

Lake Somerset (Somerset County): Few fish were caught as a draw-down continues.

Laurel Hill Lake (Somerset County): Following an October stocking, Fish and Boat reported some nice rainbows were caught on the north end of the lake.
