High school highlights: Elizabeth Forward upends West Mifflin

After losing to Elizabeth Forward on Dec. 16, West Mifflin's girls basketball team rattled off eight consecutive wins.
But Olivia Barkley and the Warriors had the Titans' number once again Monday night.
Barkley hit the winning bucket with 3.7 seconds left to lift Class AAA No. 2 Elizabeth Forward (13-1, 7-0) to a 58-56 home win against West Mifflin (11-3, 6-2) in Section 4.
It was Elizabeth Forward's fifth consecutive win against the Titans, all by 10 or fewer points.
Alison Pastore led a balanced Warriors attack with 17 points. Barkley finished with nine.
West Mifflin's Ciara Patterson led all scorers with 22.
Other top girls games
■ Christine Ehland scored a game-high 19 points in a 69-42 win for Class AAAA No. 1 Mt. Lebanon (12-3, 7-0) against visiting Peters Township (6-11, 1-7) in Section 4.
■ Class AAAA No. 2 North Allegheny (13-1, 8-0) came back from an eight-point, first-quarter deficit to beat host Oakland Catholic (3-12, 2-6), 45-35. Abby Gonzales led the Tigers with 17 points.
■ Shannon Conley had 13 of her 17 points in the first half to help Class AAAA No. 4 Bethel Park (12-1, 6-1) to a 63-56 win against visiting Canon-McMillan (7-10, 3-5) in Section 4.
■ Amanda Batey hit seven 3-pointers and finished with 24 points to lift Norwin (9-5, 7-1) to a 71-67 victory against visiting Hempfield (10-6, 6-3) in Class AAAA Section 1. Monica Burns had a game-high 25 points for the Spartans.
■ Class AAA No. 5 Central Valley (11-4, 7-1) rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to beat visiting Ambridge (8-6, 2-5), 38-36, in Section 2. Seairra Barrett had a game-high 16 points for the Warriors.
■ Kaitlyn Hoff scored 13 of her 24 points in the first quarter to help Indiana (12-3, 7-1) beat visiting Mount Pleasant (9-6, 6-1) in a battle of the top two teams in Class AAA Section 3.
■ Kaitlyn Smith scored 19 points to help Class A No. 5 Quigley Catholic (10-5, 7-0) rally from a halftime deficit to beat host Cornell (8-7, 4-4), 43-38, in Section 1.
Ford City pitches shutout
■ Ford City (11-4, 6-1) led, 32-0, at halftime on its way to a 56-0 victory against visiting Leechburg (1-12, 0-6) in Class AA Section 1. Christina Davis led the Sabers with 10 points.
■ Mia Woytovich of Charleroi scored her 1,000th career point in helping the host Cougars (15-3, 6-2) defeat Washington (9-5, 6-2), 44-33, in Class AA Section 5. Woytovich finished with 27 points and has 1,010 for her career.
Stars of the night
■ Beaver's Lexi Posset went 19 of 25 from the free-throw line and finished with 31 points to help the Bobcats (12-2, 7-1) to a 48-21 victory against visiting Freedom (6-7, 2-5) in Class AA Section 6.
■ Amirah Moore of Moon scored 18 of her 26 points in the first quarter of a 67-37 victory for the Tigers (11-4, 4-2) against host Montour (0-15, 0-7) in Class AAA Section 5.

■ Players with four or more 3-pointers: Erin Joyce, Bishop Canevin, 7; Amanda Batey, Norwin, 7; Sierra Kotchman, Trinity, 5; Madison McHale, Neshannock, 5; Anna Ayers, Latrobe, 4.
Top boys games
■ Thomas Jefferson (13-2, 5-1) got 27 points from Zach Talley in a 79-62 victory against host Belle Vernon (7-6, 3-4) in Class AAA Section 4. Jason Capco had 36 points for the Leopards.
■ Class A No. 2 Vincentian (15-0) went over the 100-point mark for the fifth time this season in a 107-83 victory against host Wilkinsburg (7-7) in non-section play. Ryan Wolf led the Royals with 24 points.
