Norwin school board on Monday night hired David C. Brozeski of North Huntingdon to be the high school's new head varsity football coach. He will start immediately.

Mr. Brozeski, 39, had served as an assistant football coach at the high school for the past 17 years, focusing primarily on defense. In that role, he coached linebackers and secondary positions.

He has taught chemistry at the high school for 18 years, and also coached track and field and basketball for Norwin.

“I’m very excited I’ve been hired,” Mr. Brozeski said after the school board meeting Monday. “I’m excited to get everybody working toward the common goal of taking the team to the next level.”
