City League Roundup: Perry off to rough start in rout

Jake Dehart scored four touchdowns, Bryce Boyd scored twice and Erie Cathedral Prep shut out Perry, 55-0, at Cupples Stadium.

Dehart scored on runs of 7, 5, 2 and 2 yards. Boyd scored on a 2-yard run and a 7-yard return of a blocked punt.

Perry had three first downs and accumulated 21 yards in total offense. Erie Cathedral Prep led, 40-0, at the half.

OTHER GAMES

Slippery Rock 44, Brashear 7

Jake Whitmer ran for two touchdowns and threw for two more to lead Slippery Rock to an easy victory against the visiting Bulls.

Whitmer rushed for 116 yards on 11 carries and scored on runs of 65 and 3 yards. He also threw touchdown passes of 61 and 31 yards to Chris Reesman.

Slippery Rock also scored on 60-yard runs by Frank Conlon and Brady Kadlubek.

Brashear scored its only points on a 14-yard run by Ty Powe.

Grove City 34, Carrick 12

Davon Cruse threw two touchdown passes, but the Raiders dropped their opener to host Grove City.
