West Mifflin hopes to claim a softball section title this spring.

A big comeback win Tuesday certainly helped that cause.

Alyssa Cairns' two-run triple capped a five-run sixth inning and propelled host West Mifflin to a 6-4 win against Class AAA No. 4 Elizabeth Forward in Section 3.

Winning pitcher Paige Flore had 15 strikeouts for the Titans (12-2, 7-2), who won their fifth game in a row and jumped into first place ahead of Elizabeth Forward (9-4, 6-2).

West Mifflin had dropped four consecutive games against Elizabeth Forward, including a 6-2 loss last month.
