Duquesne and Robert Morris were selected second and third, respectively, in the Northeast Conference's football preseason coaches' poll, the league announced Monday.

Aside from defending champion Sacred Heart, which was pegged as the conference's top team, the Dukes were the only other NEC team to receive a first-place vote from one of the league's seven coaches.

A combined eight players from Duquesne and Robert Morris made the NEC's preseason all-conference team, a group that included Dukes sophomore linebacker Aaron Reed, a Montour graduate.
