TySean Powell, a 6-foot-9 senior at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., gave Duquesne basketball a verbal commitment Sunday, one day after watching the Dukes and Dayton play at Consol Energy Center.

Powell, a Cleveland native, played with Duquesne freshman guard Desmond Ridenour at Benedictine High School and the Ohio Basketball Club before transferring to IMG Academy for his senior year. Powell is the second recruit Duquesne coach Jim Ferry has pulled from IMG Academy to the Bluff, following the lead of Dukes freshman forward Darius Lewis.

Powell joins guard Eric James (Westerville, Ohio) as the first two members of Duquesne's 2014 recruiting class.
