Pitt coach Paul Chryst picked up his eighth verbal commitment of the 2015 recruiting class Tuesday in Kettering, Ohio, defensive tackle Kraig Howe.

Howe, listed by Rivals.com at 6 feet 3, 262 pounds, is rated as a three-star recruit. He chose the Panthers over scholarship offers from Boston College, Illinois, Iowa State, Minnesota and Northwestern, among others.

Howe is the second lineman to choose Pitt in this class, joining Canon-McMillan offensive lineman Alex Paulina.
