Former Beaver Falls standout forward Sheldon Jeter made an official visit to Pitt today and liked it so much that he committed to Jamie Dixon and the Panthers, according to his dad, who confirmed the commitment.
The news is not a surprise as Jeter, who is currently enrolled at Polk Junior College in Florida, attempted to transfer from Vanderbilt to Pitt earlier this year but was not granted a release from his scholarship by Commodores coach Kevin Stallings.
Rather than enroll at Pitt and have to pay his own way, Jeter re-opened his recruitment and enrolled at Polk for this year.
Now, he will be eligible at Pitt when he enrolls next year, will be able to receive a scholarship and will have three years of eligibility remaining with the Panthers.
Jeter played 33 games for Vanderbilt last season as a freshman and averaged 5.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.breaking - pittsports
