Pitt guard James Robinson to compete for spot on U.S. team for FIBA world championship

Pitt freshman point guard James Robinson is one of 24 players who will try out for the USA Basketball U19 team that will compete in the FIBA world championship in July.

Robinson will participate in a training camp in Colorado Springs, Colo. in June, and 12 players will be selected to represent Team USA at the world championships.

Florida's Billy Donovan is the Team USA head coach sand will choose the team along with assistants Tony Bennett (Virginia) and Shaka Smart (VCU).

Robinson, a starter for the Panthers last season, was on the Team USA U18 team that won the 2012 FIBA Americas championship last summer.

The 2013 FIBA U19 world championship will be held June 27 through July 7 in Prague, Czech Republic.
