Junior tight end Drew Carswell and junior defensive back Eric Williams have been dismissed from the Pitt football team, Panthers coach Paul Chryst announced in a statement Tuesday.

Both were involved last week in a police raid and are to be charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Junior defensive tackle Khaynin Mosley-Smith, a third player involved and set to be charged in the police raid, remains on indefinite suspension.

In an unrelated incident, Chryst also suspended freshman quarterback Tra'Von Chapman indefinitely for "a weekend incident away from campus."

Chapman was arrested and pled not guilty to charges of assault and unlawful restraint at his home in Kent, Ohio, according to the Record-Courier (Ohio) newspaper.
