Next season, the Steelers may not be the only football team in Pittsburgh playing on Monday night.

Pitt and Florida State are exploring the possibility of opening their seasons with a primetime Labor Day (Sept. 2) game at Heinz Field, an ACC spokesperson confirmed Thursday.

The possibility was originally reported by the Orlando Sentinel after Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher brought it up at a Florida State booster rally Wednesday night.

Nothing will be finalized until the league releases its full conference schedule, which will be sometime in mid-February.

One of the potential roadblocks is that Pitt already has a game scheduled against Villanova for that Saturday, Aug. 31. But a Pitt source indicated that game could possibly be moved to accommodate the Monday night affair.
