At the tail end of a four-game road trip, Robert Morris' early season struggles continued.
The Colonials fell to host Youngstown State, 84-76, marking their sixth loss in their past seven games and fourth in a row.
As it has for much of this season, Robert Morris' defense had trouble containing its foe. It allowed an opponent to score more than 80 points for the seventh time in its first nine games.
Forward Lucky Jones scored a career-high 24 points on 7-of-10 shooting for the Colonials (3-6). Guard Karvel Anderson scored 18 points, while freshman Jeremiah Worthem added 12 points and a game-high eight rebounds.
The Colonials led for much of the early part of the first half, but the Penguins (7-3) went on a 15-5 run that helped give them a 44-39 lead at halftime. Robert Morris would not get within three points for the remainder of the game.
Youngstown State guard Kendrick Perry led all scorers with 27 points.
■ The Robert Morris women's team received commitments from four players in the early signing period. All four commitments are frontcourt players, a group that is comprised of Johnnah Johnson (Blackwood, N.J.), Jocelynne Jones (Sickerville, N.J.), Mikalah Mulrain (Brampton, Ontario) and Megan Smith (Barrie, Ontario).
