The St. Jude Champions for Hope Gala at the Duquesne Club Friday night brought out some big hearts for little people. The benefit for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was chaired by Judge Jack McVay (with Janine Palmer), Tim McVay and David Bush. Guests included honorary chairs Tom Bradley, Jim Krenn, former Steelers Justin Hartwig and Merril Hoge, who shared his story about fighting cancer. The hospital is free to children dealing with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Pittsburgh families who benefited spoke about what St. Jude meant to them. Lifting spirits were the students of the Center for Theater Arts choir with director Billy Hartung. Among the generous of spirit and wallet were Sandy McCurdy, Jim and Debbie Kane, Michele Antonelli, Dr. Fotios and Linda Koumpouras, Nico and Alicia Cafardi, Charles Jenkins and Corina Diehl.
