Blind & Vision Rehabilitation Services of Pittsburgh, a 103-year-old private nonprofit that serves the blind and vision-impaired, honored Art Rooney II as its 2013 Person of Vision. The gala dinner on Tuesday in the East Club Lounge of Heinz Field attracted more than 300 guests, thanks to the efforts of honorary chair Sy Holzer, president of PNC Pittsburgh, and auctioneer extraordinaire Jim Roddey. In the crowd were Mr. Rooney's wife, Greta, and daughters Mary Greta and Annie, BVRS president Erika Arbogast with Jeff, former Steelers including board member Mike Wagner, Andy Russell, Matt Bahr (with Marissa), Dwayne Woodruff (with Joy) and Craig Bingham (with Lynne), Peggy and Steve Snavely, David Lovejoy, Bonnie and Richard Antos, Kitty Gleason with David McAllister, Scott and Sue Lammie, Patty and Bob Orringer and Dr. Leo McCafferty with Susie. By evening's end more than $180,000 was raised to help fund the many services BVRS provides, from employment to personal training and blindness prevention.
