The Carnegie Science Awards, recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of students, educators, entrepreneurs, and corporations who are making contributions to science, technology and education, were handed out Friday at Carnegie Music Hall. The prestigious Chairman's Award went to three presidents of national academies who have roots in the region: Ralph Cicerone, president of the National Academy of Sciences; Charles Vest, president of the National Academy of Engineering; and Dr. Harvey Fineberg, president of the Institute of Medicine.
