No mud slinging, but there was a lot of hip swinging, not to mention tights and capes during the eighth annual Dirty Ball to benefit Attack Theatre on Saturday at the Clock Building.

Like a cross between a costume party and a comic book, this year's theme was Super Heroes, and it was executed by the amazing creative powers of Richard Parsakian. He designed the VIP Velvet Lounge with a Superman figure soaring above the party people, shadow dancers behind the bar and plenty of unusual characters, some scantily or scandalously clothed. Michele de la Reza and Peter Kope and Attack Theatre performed four times during the party beginning with a special Dirty Donors tribute in the Velvet Lounge. Chairing the event were Jon Seeley and Lynne Figgins, who mingled among nearly 1,000 guests. One guest, Helene Milan, whose family donated the space for the party, was literally lifted above the rest by the dancers as a tribute. Everyone's feet were on the ground for dancing to the sounds of Titletown Soul & Funk Party and Pandemic. The BRGR food truck was parked outside for bigger appetites, but party eats were provided inside as well.

The evening ended as it always does with "The Time of My Life" from "Dirty Dancing." Among those who helped raise nearly $58,000 for the dance troupe were Jim Abraham, Vivian and Bill Benter, Janet and Harris Ferris, the PG's Rob Rogers, Ken and Pam McCrory, Dave and Mary Beth Johnson, Manny Reich, Philipe Araujo and Victoria Suvillaga, Donna Tidwell and Tom Guiher, Tim McVay and David Bush and Richard Rauh.
