Yes it rained, and it was a bit nippy, too, but that didn't stop true polo fans from partying Saturday afternoon at Hartwood Acres. Some of the ladies insisted on wearing their fancy frocks and big hats, but most of the crowd opted for rubber boots and rain jackets -- or bought some from the Barbour tent set up by Larrimor's. Still, nothing could dampen spirits at the 29th annual Family House Polo match with teams sponsored Howard Hanna Realty and #1 Cochran. Even under an umbrella it was great to be there. But aw chucks, because the horses couldn't risk a game in the muddy field they pranced and preened and demonstrated to an appreciative crowd nonetheless. Still, Family House had its best year yet, raising close to $300,000 to provide a home away from home for patients and their families in Pittsburgh to receive medical treatment.
