Is there an anti-Pitt media consiracy?

Bob Smizik wrote in his blog that he was sitting in the press box for the Pitt-USF game -- was that the first time in a long time? And will Ron Cook ever go to a game so that he can stop bashing Pitt for just a day? Both are in love with the Big Ten, why is that?

Pitt Football: Game has surprising importance

Coaches often say that every game is important, and while that is generally true, it is also true that some games are a little more important than others.

No "collegiate" atmosphere at Pitt games?

I went to the South Florida game with my teenage sons who have inherited my love for Pitt's football program. To say the least, I was disappointed with the so-called "college football" atmosphere at Heinz Field. The football game was great but I felt like I was at an NFL game, not a college game. It's not the same. Pitt is a great university. College football should be played on campus. Does anyone else feel the same?

The Max Gruder edition

It seems to me that Max Gruder is struggling to make tackles and when he does, he seems to be overmatched by the ball carrier or receiver. What happened to the thought of putting Adam Gunn at weakside and Dan Mason in the middle? Max is an adequate linebacker but Mason is a stud in the middle.

Pitt's offense is both diverse and balanced, and its strength is in the number of playmakers. And, in recent weeks, that list has grown by one.

The Pitt Panthers had a week off just as they seemed to be heating up. That's especially true about the passing game, which really started to click in the past four games.

Why is Pitt's attendance so low?

Isn't the biggest reason for low attendance the fact that the team plays on the other side of town from where the student body is, and, by the same token, in a building that holds no nostalgic pull on the vast majority of alumni?
