Karate school to give plaque to victim's family

Saturday, May 06, 2000

C.S. Kim Karate School will present a plaque this morning to the family of Garry Lee, who was gunned down April 28 at one of its studios.

The presentation will be made at 10 a.m. at the University of Pittsburgh's Fitzgerald Field House in Oakland, where the karate school is holding its annual National All Martial Arts Invitational Tournament. Donations also will be collected for a memorial fund for the family. Admission to the tournament costs $15.

Lee, 22, of Aliquippa, was the last of five persons killed in a shooting rampage through two counties. Lee was shot at the school's studio in Center Township, Beaver County.

Richard S. Baumhammers, 34, of Mt. Lebanon has been charged with five counts of homicide in the shootings.
