A West Virginia man was sentenced Wednesday to five years in federal prison for supplying heroin to a man who died of an overdose.
Curtis Adams, 28, of Wellsburg, had pleaded guilty earlier this year.
The U.S. attorney's office in Wheeling said he and another man, Justin Withers, also 28 and from Wellsburg, were responsible for the death of a 22-year-old Follansbee, W.Va., man in March 2011.
Prosecutors said the men traveled to Steubenville, Ohio, on March 22 to obtain heroin and then sold it to the victim in exchange for jewelry and gold.
Mr. Withers is scheduled for trial in February.
