CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- Police charged a Harrison County man Friday with four counts of first-degree murder after an early morning Clarksburg shooting. The victims included an elderly man and his son delivering newspapers.
Investigators believe 27-year-old Sidney Muller shot the two other victims in a drug-related incident around 4:30 a.m. Twenty-nine-year-old Todd Russell Amos was found dead at the Locust Avenue scene. Twenty-six-year-old Christopher A. Hart died en route to a hospital.
Also found dead were two bystanders: 70-year-old Freddy Donald Swiger and his son, 47-year-old Fred Swiger. The Exponent Telegram said the two had delivered its newspaper for around 30 years.
Police allege Muller fled but was stopped in neighboring Marion County. He was charged in the murders after being questioned by Clarksburg detectives.
