Allegheny County sheriff's deputies arrested a Uniontown man Wednesday on charges that he failed to appear in court for a hearing tied to a sex assault case.

Adam Verbus, 20, previously pleaded guilty to charges that he had sex with a 14-year-old in Westmoreland County in August of 2011, when he was 18, according to a news release.

Part of his plea agreement required him to appear in court for a parole revocation hearing on June 26.

When he did not do that, Westmoreland County officials obtained a bench warrant to arrest him.

The Westmoreland County sheriff's office learned Wednesday afternoon that Verbus might be heading toward the North Side and asked deputies in Allegheny County for assistance.

Deputies spotted him at the North Shore T-station with a 16-year-old girl. They took the girl to her grandmother and took Verbus to the Allegheny County Jail, where he is awaiting extradition to Westmoreland County.
