The outbound lanes of the Squirrel Hill Tunnel will be closed again today, threatening to result in traffic tie-ups in the area.
The lanes are not set to reopen until 6 a.m. Monday.
The shutdown began at 10 p.m. Friday as part of a $49.5 rehabilitation project that is slated to finish in summer 2014.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation warned that backups could occur on the Parkway East. In addition to the tunnel closure, the Swissvale/Edgewood on-ramp for the Parkway East outbound will be shut down for work.
