An injured Seton Hill University women's lacrosse player today sued the owner of the bus that crashed Saturday in Cumberland County while carrying the team, killing the driver and the team's pregnant head coach.
Amanda Michalski, of Coon Rapids, Minn., filed suit in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas claiming the driver and the company, Mlaker Transportation of Davidsville, were negligent and responsible.
The 9 a.m. crash off the Pennsylvania Turnpike near mile marker 227 in Carlisle killed coach Kristina J. Quigley, 30, of Greensburg, and the bus' driver, Anthony M. Guaetta, 61, of Johnstown.
The bus crashed into a tree after leaving the turnpike and traveling another 75 feet.
"The bus collided with the tree because Mr. Guaetta failed to keep the vehicle under proper control and because he was otherwise reckless and negligent in the operation of the bus," according to the lawsuit.
The complaint does not detail Ms. Michalski's injuries other than to call them "severe."
