Brendon Scott Miller was pronounced dead at the scene in Armstrong Township, where his Chevrolet Cavalier crashed about 10:47 p.m., according to a press release from Indiana County coroner Michael A. Baker. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to a press release from Pennsylvania State Police in Indiana.

Mr. Miller was driving a the Cavalier westbound on Route 422 near Cunningham Road when he apparently crossed the center line and struck a Chevrolet Cobalt head-on, according to the coroner's office.

The 25-year-old female driver of the Cobalt was flown to UPMC Mercy with serious injuries, according to the release. According to the coroner's office, she was pregnant and the unborn child did not survive.

She was also not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle, according to the press release.

A 3-year-old child in the Cobalt, who was buckled in the child seat at the time of the crash, received minor injuries, according to the press release.

The state police, medical examiner, and coroner's offices won't release her name or provide her current status.

It's not clear what caused Mr. Miller to cross into the other lane, but the coroner has not ruled out that he may have experienced a sudden medical problem.
