PULASKI TOWNSHIPVilla Maria is hosting a town hall meeting on Monday night to help area residents better understand drilling issues, including oil and gas laws and the zoning process.

“We were asked to host this event as another educational opportunity for the wider local community, especially for those land owners who have not signed leases or those who did sign and now have legal questions,” Sister Barbara O’Donnell said Friday via email.

The meeting is set for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Magnificat Dining Room at Villa Maria Community Center, 225 Villa Marie Drive, Pulaski Township.

Attorneys from two local law firms will present information for area residents who’d like to learn more about oil and gas laws and regulations and the zoning and land use process, plus environmental issues.

Oday Salim and Megan Lovett of Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services and Michael Oliverio of Lynch Weis LLC will be leading the presentation, which will be followed by a 30-minute questions and answer session.

Villa Maria notes that the presentation is not intended as legal advice.

The staff at Villa Maria has been discussing the possibility of hosting more town hall meetings about drilling in the fall, O’Donnell said.
