Herb Soltman and the Game 7 Gang know exactly how the 1960 World Series turned out, but they celebrate like it has just happened.
Beginning at noon Sunday, they'll do it again, listening to the radio broadcast of the entire game on Oct. 13, 1960, when the Pirates defeated the New York Yankees on a walk-off home run by Bill Mazeroski.
The sound system will be set up near the old Forbes Field wall at the intersection of Roberto Clemente and Schenley drives in Oakland. The event is free, and the public is invited. They suggest you bring a chair. If it rains, the event will be in the tent on nearby Schenley Plaza.
The recording starts at 1 p.m. and ends with Mazeroski's home run at exactly 3:36 p.m., just as it did 53 years ago. For more information, contact Soltman at 412-429-8508 or email@example.com.
