A September series at PNC Park against the Boston Red Sox and a May trip to Yankee Stadium highlight the Pirates' 2014 schedule, which the team released this afternoon.
The Pirates will open the season at home against the Chicago Cubs and will finish the year on the road against the Cincinnati Reds -- the same way they started and will end this season.
All but two games in the first month of the season will come against National League Central Division opponents, including seven games against the Reds and six games against the St. Louis Cardinals. They will embark on two 10-game road trips during the season.
In addition to the Red Sox, the Pirates will also play host to American League East opponents the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles. They will also play the Orioles in a two-game series in Baltimore, in addition to road a series against the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Pirates will also play a four-game home-and-home series against the Detroit Tigers -- their annual interleague opponent -- in August.
