The Pirates put Wandy Rodriguez on the 15-day disabled list today because of left forearm tightness.
The move, retroactive to June 6, made room for Gerrit Cole on the active roster.
Rodriguez threw 14 pitches in one-third of an inning Wednesday before leaving because of the forearm tightness. He was scheduled to throw a bullpen session Monday to determine whether or not he could start Thursday, but felt pain playing catch Sunday, Clint Hurdle said.
The Pirates plan to activate Charlie Morton Thursday and have him start against the San Francisco Giants. That means Morton will return one day short of the one-year anniversary of his Tommy John ligament replacement surgery.
