ATLANTA -- Pirates starting pitcher Wandy Rodriguez left today's game against the Atlanta Braves with an apparent left forearm injury after recording just one out.
After hitting Freddie Freeman with a pitch, the Braves already leading 1-0, Rodriguez met with athletic trainer Todd Tomczyk and grimaced as he flexed his left forearm, pointing to a spot just under his elbow.
He is the second Pirates pitcher to leave a game early in the past few days. Jeanmar Gomez left his start Sunday after one inning with a right forearm strain/inflammation.
