Police were searching for an armed man who robbed the pastor of a Lawrenceville church Friday afternoon.
The Rev. James Earl Garmon Sr., 72, said he was in his office, adjoined to the Trinity Baptist Church on Ligonier Street, at about 4:30, when the robbery occurred.
"I was sitting here, reading in my office, and there was a knock at the door," Rev. Garmon said. "When I opened the door to see who it was, he pushed the door open, knocked me back and then he came in with a gun in his hand and said, 'I will kill you. Where's the money?'"
The Rev. Garmon said the man took about $2,000 and fled.
