
The Creative Arts Emmy Awards, a prelude to the Primetime Emmys Awards, gave Betty White another trophy for her case, while HBO's World War II epic, "The Pacific," won seven.
HBO topped the list of winners with 17, followed by ABC with 15 at the ceremony Saturday in Los Angeles. The event will air as a two-hour special on Friday, Aug. 27, at 1 p.m. on the E! Entertainment network. The Emmy Awards air 8 p.m. Sunday on NBC.
"The Pacific," a 10-part miniseries, led all Emmy nominees this year with 24, according to Emmys.com.
Most Creative Arts Emmys are dedicated to behind-the-scenes disciplines of television production -- including art direction, cinematography, hairstyling, makeup, music, picture editing, sound editing and mixing, special visual effects, stunts and more.
Awards are also handed out for animation, commercials, reality series and other programming, as well as four acting categories. In addition to Ms. White's win as Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series as guest host of "Saturday Night Live," Emmys went to Ann-Margret ("Law & Order: Special Victims Unit") and John Lithgow ("Dexter") as guest actors in a drama series and Neil Patrick Harris as a guest actor in a comedy on "Glee."
Outstanding Children's Program went to Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie," while best nonfiction for was "The Face of Courage: Kids Living with Cancer," an installment of Nickelodeon's Nick News with Linda Ellerbee. It was Ms. Ellerbee's sixth trophy and third in a row for an installment of Nick News.
ABC's "Disney Prep & Landing," an animated holiday special about two elves who prepare the way for Santa Claus, who four Emmys, including was named Outstanding Animated Program.
