Debbie Reynolds cast in film here
Saturday, August 07, 2010

Veteran performer Debbie Reynolds will play irrepressible Grandma Mazur in "One for the Money," the adaptation of the Janet Evanovich novel now filming in Pittsburgh. It stars Katherine Heigl as Stephanie Plum, a lingerie buyer turned novice New Jersey bounty hunter.

The character of Grandma Mazur, a widow, lives with Plum's parents. She's described in the books as being in her early 70s and is a firecracker who asks Plum questions such as, "So what did you do today? You have to rough anyone up?" and, when she volunteers to question someone for her granddaughter, inquires, "Do you think I should carry [a weapon]? Just in case?"

Ms. Reynolds is the mother of Carrie Fisher, who came to Pittsburgh to film "Sorority Row" two years ago.
