State police are looking for a housemate of a man found dead in his Butler County home, saying his family is concerned for his safety.

Clifford Stevenson, 56, of Harrisville was found dead Thursday. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

Police are seeking Thomas Smith, 49, who lived with Mr. Stevenson in the Mercer Township home. He has not been seen since Tuesday. Police say they don't suspect Smith of wrongdoing, but are trying to find him because they're concerned for his safety.

Mr. Smith is believed t be driving a 1998 Ford Escort, license plate HMA2597. He is 5 feet 11, has hazel eyes, and is 175 pounds with gray hair, bald on top.

Anyone with information about Mr. Smith is asked to call state police at 724-284-8100.
